ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and Türkiye have advanced their technical cooperation efforts in the livestock sector, focusing on the local production of vaccines. The initiative aims to bolster Pakistan’s capacity to produce a vaccine against Foot-and-Mouth Disease (FMD), with technical support from Türkiye.
According to Radio Pakistan, the collaboration was furthered during a meeting between Pakistan’s Federal Minister for National Food Security and Research, Rana Tanveer Hussain, and Turkish Ambassador Dr. Irfan Neziroglu. The discussions centered on the development of the livestock sector, strategies for local vaccine production, and technical training.
As part of the proposed program, Pakistan plans to send thirty individuals to Türkiye in the initial phase of a comprehensive plan to train a total of one hundred individuals in vaccine production and other technical areas.
