DIG Islamabad Holds Open Court, Vows Prompt Action on Complaints

ISLAMABAD: Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Islamabad Ali Waseem held an open court and an Orderly Room at his office, focusing on the direct engagement with both citizens and police personnel to address their grievances. Attendees included a significant number of citizens who presented various complaints, to which the DIG responded with immediate directives to relevant officers for resolution.

According to Islamabad Capital Police, the open court initiative aims to ensure that all citizen complaints are handled with strict adherence to merit and legal standards. The DIG emphasized that citizens are welcome to approach the open court without needing recommendations, and announced that these sessions will occur daily to facilitate public access to justice.

In his address during the Orderly Room, DIG Waseem highlighted the importance of police officer welfare, timely resolution of their issues, and the provision of adequate facilities. He instructed officers to follow departmental procedures rigorously and avoid unnecessary delays in processing any matters.

The DIG reiterated the commitment to resolving issues on merit and stressed that a supportive work environment is crucial for police personnel to perform effectively. This, he noted, is vital for ensuring the safety and protection of citizens’ lives and property.
