New York: Pakistan and Japan have committed to enhancing bilateral cooperation, focusing on trade, investment, education, health, and technology. This agreement came during a meeting between Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and Japan’s Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi at the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly.
According to Radio Pakistan, the two leaders engaged in discussions to further bilateral ties, emphasizing areas such as the automobile sector and digital IT cooperation. They also addressed regional and international issues, including the Middle East situation, and the impact on energy supplies and global supply chains. Foreign Minister Motegi recognized Pakistan’s efforts in regional peace and stability, expressing hope for a return to dialogue and the implementation of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding.
