ISLAMABAD: French Ambassador Nicolas Galey concluded his tenure in Pakistan with a farewell meeting with President Asif Ali Zardari, during which both sides reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing bilateral relations. President Zardari acknowledged the ambassador’s efforts in bolstering ties between the two countries and emphasized the importance of continued cooperation in areas of mutual interest.

According to Radio Pakistan, President Zardari expressed gratitude for Ambassador Galey’s contributions during a challenging period in Pakistan-France relations. He underscored the necessity of maintaining high-level exchanges and fostering economic collaboration. The President also conveyed his sympathies to France regarding the recent wildfires and acknowledged the country’s recognition of Pakistan’s mediation efforts in the US-Iran conflict.

The meeting highlighted ongoing and future cooperation, particularly involving French companies and the French Agency for Development in Pakistan’s development projects.
