Copenhagen: Pakistan and Denmark conducted the fifth round of Bilateral Political Consultations in Copenhagen on September 23, 2026, focusing on enhancing bilateral relations, including trade and investment, green transition, and multilateral cooperation. The meeting was led by Ambassador Ayesha Ali for Pakistan and Ambassador Susanne Hyldelund for Denmark.

According to Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the discussions included a comprehensive review of political engagement, energy cooperation, and people-to-people contacts. Both sides expressed satisfaction with the progress in bilateral relations and committed to expanding cooperation in areas such as renewable energy, IT, and infrastructure. Emphasis was placed on increasing trade and business engagement, with a focus on attracting Danish investments.

Pakistan acknowledged Denmark’s continued cooperation through the Green Framework Engagement Agreement and highlighted the Strategic Sector Cooperation, including the Faisalabad Wastewater Treatment Plant. Discussions also covered visa and consular matters, professional mobility, and air connectivity.

The consultations reviewed the countries’ cooperation on the Security Council and exchanged views on regional and global developments. Both sides agreed to sustain the momentum of engagement and plan for the next round of consultations in Pakistan on mutually agreed dates.
