LAHORE: The Punjab Food Department facilitated the distribution of 226,882 bags of 10-kilogram flour, produced from government wheat, to markets across the province on September 23, 2026.

According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Punjab, Amjad Hafeez, the Director General of Food for Punjab, emphasized that the supply of flour remains steady throughout the province. He confirmed the availability of flour in sufficient quantities, with flour mills operating normally and offering the 10kg bags at Rs1,100.

In addition to the government-supplied flour, 288,723 bags of 10kg and 91,958 bags of 20kg, produced from privately sourced wheat, were also distributed across various districts in Punjab. This brings the total number of 10kg bags supplied on September 23 to 699,521.

Hafeez assured that the Punjab government is diligently monitoring the flour supply chain to prevent any disruptions. He stated that relevant departments are actively combating hoarding and profiteering, and the Punjab Food Safety Department is closely observing flour prices and market availability to maintain the prescribed consumer price.

Ensuring a continuous and adequate supply of flour to the public remains a top priority for the Punjab government, which is consistently monitoring demand, supply, and pricing in the market.
