Nation Mourns as Funeral Prayers Held for Soldiers Martyred in Lakki Marwat Mine Explosion


Bannu, Funeral prayers were held on June 9, 2024, for the seven soldiers who tragically lost their lives in a mine explosion in Lakki Marwat district. The solemn ceremony took place in Bannu, attended by high-ranking military officials, fellow soldiers, and members of the public.



According to Inter Services Public Relations, those honored included Captain Muhammad Faraz Ilyas from Kasur District, Subedar Major Muhammad Nazir from Skardu District, Lance Naik Mohammad Anwar also from Skardu, Lance Naik Hussain Ali from Ghazar District, Sepoy Asadullah from Multan, Sepoy Manzoor Hussain from Gilgit District, and Sepoy Rashid Mehmood from Rawalpindi. Each of these soldiers was remembered for their dedication and service to the country.



The Corps Commander of Peshawar along with other service officers and jawans participated in the prayers, underscoring the deep respect and solemnity of the occasion. Following the funeral prayers, the bodies of the martyred soldiers were transported to their respective native areas, where they will receive burials with full military honors.



This tragic event has reaffirmed the commitment of Pakistan’s security forces to combat the ongoing threat of terrorism, with officials and citizens alike honoring the sacrifices made by these brave individuals in the line of duty.
