Modi govt using agencies, forces against political opponents: Chhattisgarh CM

Raipur, October 29, 2022 (PPI-OT):Chhattisgarh Chief Minister, Bhupesh Baghel, has said that the Indian agencies and paramilitary forces are being misused and sent to states of opposition, without keeping the state governments informed.

Reacting to the recent entry of paramilitary forces in the state along with the teams of Enforcement Directorate and referring to Modi’s statement on states being co-operative with paramilitary forces, Baghel said, states should be taken into confidence. Just like Indian agencies, paramilitary forces are also being exploited, he added.

“Look at incidents of Jhiram Maoist attack and BJP MLA Bheema Mandavi’s assassination by Maoists. The cases were being investigated by state police, in fact in Mandavi’s case, police had probed more than half of the case, but the Indian government handed over the case to NIA and today no one knows its status,” said Baghel. Pointing to Narendra Modi’s statement on “urban Naxalites”, the Chhattisgarh Chief Minister said in the name of urban Naxalites, people are often tortured.
