Lahore: A meeting chaired by Minister for Local Government Zeeshan Rafique was convened at the Suthra Punjab Authority Office to evaluate the performance of district agencies and address other administrative matters. Secretary Local Government Zaid Bin Maqsood and Director General Suthra Punjab Authority Umar Javed also participated, with managing directors of district agencies joining via video link.

According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Punjab, Minister Rafique stated that on the directives of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the performance of agencies will undergo monthly reviews. He noted the intensification of anti-littering inspections across Punjab, revealing that 2121 violations were recorded during 22,466 visits by anti-littering squads in one month. The Minister emphasized that fines will be imposed for littering regardless of the ongoing awareness campaign. He highlighted the role of Lahore’s Safe City Network in assisting the anti-littering campaign and announced the commencement of a tracking system installation in loader rickshaws to enhance monitoring.

Secretary Maqsood underscored the importance of loader rickshaws being operational in each beat for the specified hours and completing the required mileage, warning of action against those not in uniform. Director General Javed stated that weekly reports of field monitoring officers’ visits are being uploaded on the portal, and online invoicing has commenced in Okara, Sahiwal, and Pakpattan, with plans to extend this to other districts soon.
