Karachi: Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab inaugurated the rehabilitation and improvement project of Jahangir Road from Gurumandir to Teen Hatti, completed at a cost of Rs. 360 million. On the occasion, Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentary Leader in the City Council Karamullah Waqasi, Deputy Parliamentary Leader Dil Muhammad, other City Council members, and elected representatives were present.

According to Karachi Metropolitan Corporation, the project included various development works such as road rehabilitation and widening, drainage, footpaths, lane marking, and lighting arrangements. The 1.4-kilometer-long two-way road was widened from 26 feet to 32 feet, with paving blocks and asphalt laid extensively. Additionally, sewerage lines were rehabilitated, and a new drainage line was installed to improve the area’s drainage system.

The project also focused on road beautification and lighting, with the installation of 80 new solar lights. The Mayor emphasized that the improvements aimed to fulfill promises to citizens, enhancing the travel experience for millions using the thoroughfare daily. He highlighted ongoing and future infrastructure projects and reiterated the commitment to resolving Karachi’s civic issues, emphasizing inclusive development efforts.
