Karachi: A significant majority of Pakistani parents have expressed satisfaction with various school facilities, with bathrooms and cleanliness receiving the highest ratings, according to a recent survey. Conducted by Gallup & Gilani Pakistan, the survey found that 85% of parents are content with the cleanliness and bathroom facilities at their children’s schools. Other facilities such as fans for protection from heat, drinking water, and playgrounds also received high satisfaction ratings, though libraries recorded the lowest satisfaction level.

According to Gilani Research Foundation, the survey is part of an ongoing series aimed at understanding the school landscape in Pakistan. The findings reveal that 82% of parents are satisfied with fans, 78% with drinking water, and 75% with playgrounds. Libraries, however, received a satisfaction rating of 72%, with an additional concern that 6% of parents reported a lack of library facilities at their children’s schools.

The survey, involving 1,415 married men and women across urban and rural areas of Pakistan’s four provinces, highlights that dissatisfaction levels are highest for libraries and playgrounds, both at 21%. The data was collected via computer-assisted telephonic interviews (CATI) from March 18 to March 31, 2026, and carries an error margin of approximately ± 2-3 percent.

Overall, the results indicate a generally positive perception of school facilities among parents, with satisfaction levels for all facilities exceeding 70%. However, the lower satisfaction and higher dissatisfaction with libraries suggest a need for improvement in this specific area.
