Leh: Leh Apex Body Co-chairman Chering Dorjay has voiced concerns over the Indian government’s delay in engaging Ladakh’s leaders for talks on key regional demands. The absence of dialogue has sparked uncertainty among local leaders about the future of discussions initially slated for February 15.
According to a statement by Kashmir Media Service, Dorjay addressed the media in Leh, revealing that the anticipated meeting with the Ministry of Home Affairs did not materialize. This development has prompted the Leh Apex Body and the Kargil Democratic Alliance to consider revising their strategy if they remain excluded from future talks.
Dorjay highlighted the government’s failure to release minutes from the last meeting and its inaction on previously agreed-upon decisions, such as filling vacant gazetted posts. This lack of progress has added to the growing frustration among regional leaders.
In his remarks, Dorjay emphasized the continued communication between the Leh Apex Body and the Kargil Democratic Alliance. The two groups are preparing to determine their next steps should the government continue to delay the discussions that were scheduled for February 15.
