Islamabad: Kuwait has agreed to extend its oil credit facility to Pakistan for an additional two years, according to Kuwait’s Ambassador to Pakistan. The announcement came during a meeting with Pakistan’s Minister for Petroleum, Ali Pervaiz Malik, in Islamabad, signaling a continued commitment to energy cooperation between the two nations.
The oil credit facility, provided by Kuwait Petroleum to the Pakistan State Oil (PSO), has been a crucial component of Pakistan’s energy procurement strategy. Minister Malik expressed his gratitude to Kuwait for this concession, highlighting the role of such support in aiding Pakistan’s structural reforms under Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s leadership.
The discussions between the two officials also touched upon enhancing bilateral cooperation in the energy sector. Minister Malik reiterated the Prime Minister’s respect and affection for Kuwait’s people and leadership, emphasizing the importance of partnerships with brotherly countries like Kuwait.
