Srinagar: The Kralgund area in Kupwara district, part of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), is experiencing a severe shortage of potable water, forcing residents to rely on a contaminated local stream.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the problem has persisted for several years despite the proximity of these villages to the tehsil headquarters. Local authorities have not addressed the issue, leaving the community without access to safe tap water.
The reliance on stream water has led to health concerns, with numerous reports of waterborne illnesses among the population. The situation highlights ongoing challenges in public health and infrastructure development in the region.
