Lahore: In a recent address at the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Minister of State for Finance Bilal Azhar Kayani underscored the significant contributions of the private sector to Pakistan’s economic development. Kayani highlighted the sector’s pivotal role in enhancing tax collection, generating employment, and fostering overall economic growth.
According to Radio Pakistan, Kayani noted that the government, under the Prime Minister’s guidance, has maintained a strong engagement with the business community. This collaboration has led to the integration of the community’s recommendations into the federal budget. Among the key financial adjustments announced, the government has abolished the Super Tax on exporters and the Export Development Surcharge. Furthermore, the management of the Export Development Fund has been delegated to the private sector, marking a shift towards increased private sector involvement in economic initiatives.
