Kashmiri Diaspora Leader Dismisses India’s Objection to UK Diplomat’s Visit to AJK

London, Fahim Kayani, the leader of Tehreek-e-Kashmir UK, has vocally rejected India’s protest against the recent visit of the British High Commissioner to Mirpur, Azad Kashmir. Kayani emphasized the importance of foreign diplomats visiting Azad Kashmir and criticized India’s response to the visit.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Kayani, in a statement issued in London, asserted the need for increased international community and diplomatic visits to Azad Kashmir, stating that Pakistan has nothing to hide. His statement came in response to the British High Commissioner to Pakistan, Jane Marriott, and an official from the UK Foreign Office visiting Azad Kashmir on January 10, which led to objections from India.

Tehreek-e-Kashmir UK, a prominent diaspora group advocating for the right to self-determination of Kashmiris, has been active in voicing concerns over the situation in the region. Kayani challenged New Delhi to allow access to Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), where he claims millions of Kashmiris are suffering under repressive conditions.

He accused the Indian government, led by the RSS, of turning Jammu and Kashmir into an open-air prison, citing the heavy military presence and restrictions on communication. Kayani’s statement was forthright, urging India to stop its coercive diplomacy and asserting that Kashmiris will not be intimidated by military force.

Additionally, Kayani labeled India a “rogue state,” accusing it of violating international law and the UN Charter. He called on the international community to intervene and stop India’s alleged human rights violations in Kashmir.
