KARACHI: The spokesperson for the Mayor of Karachi, Karamullah Waqasi, has attributed the growing public confidence and improvements in civic services and infrastructure in Karachi to the effective policies and leadership of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP). The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) is set to unveil a new budget, promising a significant chapter of development in the city’s history.
According to Karachi Metropolitan Corporation, Waqasi emphasized the successful collection of Rs4 billion in municipal taxes through electricity bills as a testament to the public’s trust in local government. He credited Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab’s transparent governance for fostering a strong relationship between the city administration and residents.
Waqasi outlined the upcoming budget’s potential to usher in a new era of urban growth, supported by the Sindh Government and the PPP’s public-focused vision. Recent advancements, such as the replacement of the aging Water Line No. 5, were highlighted as crucial to enhancing the city’s water supply system.
The spokesperson noted the collaborative efforts of the Karachi Water and Sewerage Corporation, the Sindh Government, and the KMC in modernizing water infrastructure, with a focus on improving the quality of life for Karachi’s residents. He praised the PPP’s commitment to sustainable development and practical solutions for public issues, led by Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Mayor Murtaza Wahab.
Waqasi concluded by reaffirming the PPP’s dedication to transforming Karachi into a modern and prosperous city, citing improvements in civic services, infrastructure, and revenue collection as indicators of progress and public trust.
