Karachi, In a significant meeting at the Central Police Office Karachi, IG Sindh Ghulam Nabi Memon met with a 15-member delegation from the Korangi Association of Trade and Industry (KATI), led by Deputy Patron-in-Chief Zubair Chhaya, to discuss enhancements to the city’s security infrastructure and law enforcement strategies.

According to Sindh Police, the meeting covered a range of topics critical to bolstering security across Karachi. IG Memon briefed the delegation on current crime prevention tactics and the broader law enforcement landscape, emphasizing initiatives such as the installation of surveillance cameras, the recruitment of specialized prosecutors, and the development of special courts to expedite criminal cases.

During the meeting, IG Memon highlighted the longstanding relationship between the Sindh Police and KATI, underscoring the importance of their partnership in transforming Karachi into a bastion of law and order. He pointed out that challenges such as terrorism and street crime require collective efforts to mitigate.

The industrialists’ role was particularly stressed by IG Memon, who noted their significant influence as major stakeholders in the city’s economy and social fabric. On their part, the KATI delegation affirmed their commitment to supporting the police’s initiatives, particularly in the establishment of drug rehabilitation centers aimed at curbing substance abuse and associated criminal activities. The industrialists acknowledged the positive impact of enhanced security measures on the city’s peace and stability, lauding the Sindh Police for their dedication and effectiveness.

The delegation’s visit included a tour of the command and control center, where they observed the real-time monitoring capabilities that support police operations throughout Karachi.
