Islamabad: The foreign ministers of Pakistan, Egypt, Indonesia, Jordan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Turkiye, and the United Arab Emirates issued a joint statement expressing deep concern over the worsening humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip. Severe weather conditions, including heavy rainfall and storms, have compounded existing challenges, highlighting the urgent need for humanitarian assistance and access.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the ministers noted that almost 1.9 million people, including displaced families living in inadequate shelters, are severely affected. Flooded camps, damaged tents, and collapsed buildings have increased risks to civilian lives, especially among vulnerable groups such as children and the elderly. The ministers commended the efforts of United Nations organizations, particularly UNRWA, and international NGOs for their ongoing assistance in difficult conditions. They called on Israel to ensure these organizations can operate without restrictions.

The ministers reaffirmed their commitment to UNSCR 2803 and President Trump’s Comprehensive Plan, emphasizing the importance of a sustainable ceasefire and a pathway to Palestinian self-determination. They urged the international community to pressure Israel to lift constraints on essential supplies and to allow unhindered humanitarian aid into Gaza. Additionally, they called for the opening of the Rafah Crossing and the rehabilitation of infrastructure and hospitals to address the urgent needs of the population.
