Islamabad Police Mobilize Over 7,000 Officers for Eid Security

Islamabad: In a significant security operation, the Islamabad Police have mobilized more than 7,000 officers to ensure safety during the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr celebrations. This deployment is part of a comprehensive security plan initiated by Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Islamabad Muhammad Jawad Tariq, following directives from Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi.

According to Islamabad Capital Police, the security plan focuses on Chand Raat and Eid-ul-Fitr religious gatherings, with more than 3,000 officers assigned to protect mosques, imambargahs, and open spaces hosting Eid congregations. Entry to these gatherings will be restricted to designated routes, with strict security measures including body searches, and parking near religious sites will be prohibited.

To manage traffic efficiently during the holiday, over 500 officers from the Islamabad Traffic Police will be on duty. Special pickets have been established to deter one-wheeling and ensure public safety.

Public places, parks, and graveyards will see the deployment of over 2,000 officers. Recreational areas will be monitored by special police squads, foot and bicycle patrols, and mounted units. Access to family parks in the federal capital will be limited to families, with women police squads actively patrolling recreational spots.

During Chand Raat and Eid days, police station mobiles, special Dolphin Squad teams, and all patrolling units will intensify their activities citywide. The Islamabad Police have committed to taking strict action against individuals involved in aerial firing, one-wheeling, and other illegal activities.

DIG Islamabad emphasized that all available resources will be utilized to ensure robust security during these significant religious events.
