ISLAMABAD: In a significant move to enhance security measures and combat crime, the Islamabad police have conducted extensive search operations involving the inspection of 1,146 individuals across various jurisdictions within the federal capital.
According to Islamabad Capital Police, the operations were initiated in response to directives from Inspector General of Police Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, with the aim of curbing criminal activities and ensuring the safety of residents. The operations were supervised by zonal SPs and covered multiple police station jurisdictions.
During the search efforts, authorities thoroughly examined 460 houses, 247 shops, 21 hotels, 310 motorcycles, and 112 vehicles. As a result, 19 individuals deemed suspicious, 10 Afghan citizens residing illegally, 21 motorcycles, and one vehicle were taken to police stations for further legal proceedings.
Qazi Ali Raza, SSP Operations Islamabad, stated that the primary goal of these operations is to tighten security measures against criminal elements and strengthen the city’s overall security framework. He assured that the police would continue to take decisive action against criminals, land grabbers, and drug traffickers without discrimination.
Raza also called on citizens to assist law enforcement by reporting any suspicious activities to the nearest police station or through the emergency helpline “Pucar-15.”
