Islamabad: In a concerted effort to curb crime, the Islamabad Police have arrested 91 individuals involved in drug trafficking, illegal weapons possession, and other criminal activities across the federal capital. The initiative follows directives from Inspector General of Police Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, aimed at enhancing public safety.

According to Islamabad Capital Police, recent operations led to the arrest of 12 suspects connected to drug trafficking and illegal weapons possession. Police confiscated 2,021 grams of Ice, a knife, six pistols of varying calibers, and ammunition from the suspects. Legal proceedings have been initiated against them as investigations continue.

In a parallel campaign targeting proclaimed offenders, individuals with criminal records, and court absconders, police apprehended 79 wanted criminals. SSP Operations Islamabad Qazi Ali Raza emphasized the police’s commitment to safeguarding citizens’ lives and property. Under the “No to Weapon” campaign, authorities are focusing on eradicating illegal weapons possession and aerial firing.

SSP Raza also highlighted ongoing efforts to capture proclaimed offenders and those with criminal histories, ensuring swift justice for the community. He urged residents to report suspicious behavior to local police stations or the Pucar-15 emergency helpline, fostering collaboration between law enforcement and the public to enhance security in the capital.
