ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Police have arrested 22 individuals as part of an intensified crackdown on crime within the federal capital, focusing on drug trafficking and illegal weapons possession. The operation, conducted under the directives of Inspector General of Police Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, resulted in the recovery of significant quantities of drugs and weapons.

According to Islamabad Capital Police, the operation led to the arrest of 19 individuals involved in drug trafficking and illegal weapons possession. The police recovered substantial quantities of narcotics, including 1,188 grams of ice, 630 grams of heroin, and 2,865 grams of hashish, along with eight pistols of various calibers and ammunition. Legal cases have been initiated against the suspects, and investigations are ongoing.

In a parallel effort to capture proclaimed offenders, individuals with criminal histories, and court absconders, Islamabad Police apprehended three wanted offenders. SSP Operations Islamabad Qazi Ali Raza emphasized the police’s commitment to ensuring the safety of citizens, highlighting initiatives like the “No to Weapon” campaign aimed at eliminating illegal weapon possession and usage.

Raza also stressed the importance of community cooperation, urging citizens to report suspicious activities to local police stations or through the Pucar-15 emergency helpline. This collaborative effort is part of a broader strategy to enhance security and justice accessibility in Islamabad.
