ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Police have arrested seven individuals in connection with drug trafficking and illegal weapons possession, as part of an ongoing effort to enhance security and reduce crime in the federal capital. The operation, which follows directives from Inspector General of Police Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, highlights the force’s commitment to safety and crime prevention.

According to Islamabad Capital Police, police teams apprehended five suspects linked to drug trafficking and weapons possession. Authorities confiscated 751 grams of “Ice” (methamphetamine) and a firearm with ammunition from the accused. Legal cases have been filed against them, and further investigations are in progress.

In a parallel initiative aimed at capturing individuals with outstanding warrants and criminal histories, police detained two additional suspects identified as proclaimed offenders. SSP Operations Islamabad, Qazi Ali Raza, emphasized the police’s dedication to safeguarding citizens’ lives and properties. He reiterated the department’s “No to Weapon” campaign, which targets illegal arms possession and aerial firing.

SSP Raza also underscored the ongoing efforts to capture individuals with criminal pasts and ensure swift justice. He encouraged the public to report any suspicious activities to police stations or via the Pucar-15 emergency helpline, fostering collaborative efforts to enhance safety in Islamabad.
