ISLAMABAD: In a significant law enforcement operation, the Islamabad Police have apprehended 78 individuals, recovering illegal drugs and weapons in an effort to enhance public safety across the federal capital.

According to Islamabad Capital Police, the crackdown follows directives from Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi. The operation aimed to address crime, detain criminal elements, and ensure the security of citizens. During these efforts, police teams arrested 13 individuals linked to drug trafficking and illegal weapons possession, seizing 180 grams of Ice, 510 grams of hashish, and 10 pistols with ammunition. Legal proceedings have been initiated against those arrested, with investigations ongoing.

In a parallel initiative, the police detained 65 wanted offenders as part of a campaign targeting proclaimed offenders and individuals with prior criminal records. SSP Operations Islamabad Qazi Ali Raza emphasized the police’s commitment to safeguarding lives and property, highlighting the “No to Weapon” campaign designed to combat illegal weapon possession and use. Raza urged citizens to report suspicious activities to local authorities or the Pucar-15 emergency helpline, fostering collaboration between the police and the community to enhance safety and security.
