ISLAMABAD: In an ongoing effort to combat crime in the federal capital, Islamabad Police have arrested 36 individuals, recovering drugs and illegal weapons in the process.

According to Islamabad Capital Police, the arrests followed directives from Inspector General of Police Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, aiming to enhance security and curb criminal activities. The police teams detained 18 individuals for drug trafficking and illegal weapons possession. Confiscated items included 440 grams of Ice, 635 grams of chars, two Kalashnikov rifles, two knives, and 12 pistols of varying calibers. Cases have been filed against the suspects, with investigations continuing.

Additionally, as part of a targeted campaign to apprehend proclaimed offenders and court absconders, 18 wanted individuals were taken into custody. SSP Operations Islamabad Qazi Ali Raza emphasized the department’s dedication to citizen safety, highlighting the “No to Weapon” initiative that targets the illegal possession and use of firearms. He encouraged the public to report suspicious activities to foster a safer community, urging cooperation between law enforcement and residents.
