Islamabad Police Arrest 18 in Major Drug Crackdown

Islamabad, In a major operation against drug trafficking, Islamabad Police have arrested 18 individuals and seized a significant cache of narcotics, intensifying their efforts to combat drug-related activities in the city.

According to Islamabad Capital Police, the arrests and seizures are part of the “Nasha Ab Nahi” movement initiated under the directives of Inspector General of Police, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, aimed at eradicating narcotics and protecting the youth from drug abuse. The police teams from various districts including Aabpara, Secretariat, and Kohsar, successfully recovered large quantities of heroin and other drugs like hashish and ice from the suspects. Among the notable arrests were Saim Javed, found with 550 grams of heroin, and Bakhtawar Bibi along with Shahzad, from whom 3,510 grams of heroin were confiscated.

DIG Operations Islamabad, Syed Ali Raza, emphasized that the ongoing operations are part of a broader movement, not just a campaign, dedicated to purging the community of drugs and curtailing drug trafficking networks. The police are committed to daily targeted operations to cleanse the city of these illicit activities.
