Islamabad, In a vibrant display of support for the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), the International Kashmir Lobby Group organized the “Pedal for Peace: Kashmir Solidarity Day Cycle Rally” in Islamabad this Sunday. The rally, which started from D Chowk and concluded at the Islamabad Press Club, was part of the events marking Kashmir Solidarity Day, aimed at drawing attention to the plight of the Kashmiri population and advocating for international intervention.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the event attracted over 100 participants, including community leaders, activists, and organizers who rode their bicycles through the capital city, bearing placards that expressed solidarity with the people of IIOJK. The rally not only served as a peaceful protest against the ongoing challenges faced by Kashmiris but also highlighted the need for a resolution based on the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) Resolutions.
At the Islamabad Press Club, the rally transformed into a gathering where speakers took the opportunity to shed light on the significance of Kashmir Solidarity Day. They articulated the shared sentiments of the Pakistani people with the Kashmiri struggle for self-determination and justice.
The Youth Forum for Kashmir (YFK), one of the participating organizations, reiterated its commitment to human rights advocacy and the peaceful resolution of the Kashmir conflict in alignment with international mandates. The event underscored the broader Pakistani community’s unwavering support for Kashmiris, reflecting a collective call for peace and the rightful recognition of their autonomy.
The “Pedal for Peace” cycle rally thus served as a meaningful expression of solidarity, urging global awareness and action towards resolving the long-standing Kashmir issue in a manner that respects the rights and aspirations of its people.
