ISLAMABAD: Over 303 individuals were screened during citywide search operations in Islamabad, as the police intensified efforts to curb crime and crack down on criminal elements. The operations were initiated following directives from Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi.
According to Islamabad Capital Police, the comprehensive operations were conducted under the supervision of SSP Operations Islamabad Qazi Ali Raza and monitored by zonal SPs. These efforts resulted in the thorough checking of 145 households, 73 shops, 20 hotels, 171 motorcycles, and 62 vehicles. During the operations, 11 suspicious individuals and 16 motorcycles were taken to police stations for further verification.
In addition to the verifications, arrests were made for illegal possession of weapons. Two pistols of different calibers, along with ammunition, were recovered from the arrested individuals. SSP Operations Qazi Ali Raza stated that the operations aim to tighten the noose around criminal elements and strengthen security across the federal capital. The police continue to take indiscriminate action against criminal elements, land grabbers, and drug dealers to ensure the safety and security of citizens.
