ISLAMABAD, Dr. Sardar Muhammad Tahir Tabassum, President of the Institute of Peace and Development (INSPAD), emphasized the significance of resolving the ongoing issues in Palestine and Kashmir to ensure peace in both the Middle East and South Asia, which he believes will contribute to global harmony.
According to a news release by Kashmir Media Service, in a statement released in Islamabad, Dr. Tabassum asserted that nations and countries with a commitment to peace should prioritize establishing stability in the aforementioned regions by addressing the Palestine and Kashmir disputes. He expressed his deep concerns over Israel’s actions in Gaza, describing them as being detrimental to humanity. Furthermore, he called upon international entities such as the United Nations, Red Cross, and other relief organizations to offer immediate assistance in the form of medical care, water, housing, and other essential amenities to the affected communities.
The INSPAD President sought the intervention of international stakeholders, including the UN, OIC, Arab League, China, Russia, Germany, Iran, Turkey, and Saudi Arabia, urging them to persuade Israel to commit to a ceasefire. He warned that a lack of decisive action could lead to uncontrollable circumstances. Lamenting the immense casualties and displacements in Gaza, Dr. Tabassum expressed his disappointment with the global response and cautioned against the West’s perceived double standards, suggesting it could exacerbate cultural conflicts.
