Indian Police Detain Seven in Budgam, Demolish Alleged Propaganda Structure

Budgam, In a recent operation in the Beerwah area of Budgam district, Indian police arrested seven individuals and demolished a structure they claimed was used for anti-India propaganda. The arrests and demolition have drawn attention to ongoing tensions in the region.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the police action took place on Thursday. The detainees, identified as Romain Rasool Sheikh, Irfan Nazir Sheikh, Rizwan Nazir Sheikh, Sahil Javid Sheikh, Jahangir Bashir Mir, Tariq Ashraf Sheikh, and Shakir Lateef Pathan, are all residents of Beerwah. They were apprehended while allegedly affixing posters in and around the Beerwah area.

The police allege that the structure demolished during the operation was being used by these individuals, whom they described as overground workers, to disseminate anti-India propaganda. This action is part of a broader crackdown on activities deemed hostile or separatist in nature by Indian authorities in Jammu and Kashmir.
