ISLAMABAD: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad, Captain (Retd.) Muhammad Sohail Chaudhry, has called for significant improvements in public facilitation and traffic management following a high-level meeting with senior police officials, including DIG Headquarters Muhammad Jawad Tariq.

According to Islamabad Capital Police, the meeting provided a platform to review the overall performance, professional and administrative affairs, as well as ongoing public facilitation initiatives of the Islamabad Police. Discussions centered on making police services more accessible, efficient, and citizen-friendly, alongside the prompt resolution of citizens’ complaints and enhancing police-public engagement.

The IGP underscored the importance of citizens not encountering unnecessary difficulties in accessing police services and directed all departments to ensure timely and transparent service provision. He advocated for the use of modern technology and available resources to enhance police services and facilitate citizens effectively.

In terms of traffic management, the IGP emphasized the need for a coordinated strategy to ensure smooth traffic flow and address commuting difficulties. He highlighted the importance of organizing the traffic system, enforcing traffic laws, and boosting public awareness regarding road safety.

The meeting also stressed the importance of addressing citizens’ complaints and applications promptly. The IGP instructed officers to exhibit courteous and professional conduct, warning against unnecessary delays and negligence in service provision. Additionally, he reiterated the fundamental priorities of protecting citizens’ lives and property, providing quality services, and enforcing the law.

The IGP concluded by urging officers to focus on improving administrative affairs, resolving departmental issues, and enhancing the overall performance of the Islamabad Police to strengthen public trust.
