IG Sindh Leads Review of Police Station Record Management System

Karachi: In a concerted effort to enhance crime data management, IG Sindh Ghulam Nabi Memon chaired a review meeting on the Police Station Record Management System (PSRMS) at the Central Police Office in Karachi. The meeting brought together high-ranking officials from various branches of the Sindh Police to discuss the operational efficacy and future improvements of the system.

According to Sindh Police, the session featured a comprehensive briefing by the DIG Crime and Investigation on the PSRMS’s pivotal role in streamlining policing processes. These include the registration and tracking of FIRs, investigations, court proceedings, and other crucial legal actions. The briefing emphasized a well-structured plan for the registration, investigation, and judicial handling of cases, including the establishment of dedicated offices and staff across the province for data entry and system monitoring.

IG Memon highlighted the system’s potential to significantly improve daily monitoring of case investigations and judicial processes. He stressed the importance of updating the system with ongoing investigations and judicial developments, aiming to reduce delays in legal proceedings and enhance case management efficiency. Additionally, the IG underscored the system’s capacity to support a digital data bank and integrate modern technological reforms in the policing sector.

The meeting concluded with IG Memon directing relevant departments to prepare detailed recommendations for the Sindh government’s approval on the resources and manpower needed to fully activate and sustain the PSRMS.
