Karachi, Inspector General of Sindh Police, Rafat Mukhtar Raja, conducted a series of review meetings in the Sukkur and Larkana ranges to assess the law and order situation and police actions against criminal activities. The visit focused on the ongoing investigations, including the high-profile case of the slain journalist Jan Muhammad Maher.
According to Directorate General Information and PRs – Sindh, IG Sindh’s visit to Sukkur and Larkana was marked by a guard of honour and a general salute. He was briefed by the Senior Superintendents of Police (SSPs) from Sukkur and Ghotki on the current law and order situation and the measures taken by the police in these districts.
IG Sindh emphasized the importance of intensifying the intelligence-based operation against dacoits in the Kutch area. He stressed the need for effective police patrols and successful operations under inter-provincial linkages. He also directed the police to accelerate the investigation into the murder of journalist Jan Muhammad Maher, ensuring that concrete evidence leads to the swift apprehension of the accused.
Raja asserted that there is no immunity for criminals involved in robberies and kidnappings, calling for strict action against perpetrators and their patrons in both rural and urban areas. He assured the use of modern weapons and equipment in operations against criminals, with support from other law enforcement agencies.
Reiterating his stance, IG Sindh urged criminals to surrender and comply with the law, considering the impact of their actions on their families. The meetings in Sukkur and Larkana also saw the participation of DIG Sukkur Abdul Hameed Khosa, SSP Sukkur Irfan Samu, and other senior police officers from both ranges.
These review meetings highlight the Sindh Police’s commitment to maintaining law and order and ensuring justice in significant criminal cases.
