IG Punjab Receives Annual Crime Report from DPO Nankana

LAHORE, The District Police Officer (DPO) of Nankana, Saeed Aziz, alongside his team, reported to the Inspector General Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anu Rase, at the Central Police Office, presenting a detailed account of the year’s criminal recoveries and law enforcement achievements within the district.

According to Punjab Police, the Nankana police successfully reclaimed property and cash totaling PKR 10 crore 84 lakh 33 thousand 693 from various criminals and restored them to the rightful owners. Saeed Aziz outlined the significant strides made in the crackdown against illegal weapons, with 908 cases registered and a sizable arsenal recovered, including 39 Kalashnikovs, 104 guns, 67 rifles, 668 pistols, 4 carbines, along with 6167 bullets and cartridges.

The DPO highlighted the resolution of serious crimes, with 128 suspects of 63 murder cases apprehended, including the solving of 5 blind murder cases. A special campaign against proclaimed offenders resulted in the arrest of 1717 individuals, and the dismantling of 53 criminal gangs, leading to the recovery of PKR 2 crore 60 lakh 85 thousand in stolen property.

Furthermore, the Nankana police’s efforts in the fight against narcotics led to the seizure of 305 kilograms of hashish, over 9 kilograms of heroin, 200 grams of opium, 14.941 grams of ice, and the interception of 8365 liters of illicit liquor along with the closure of 10 active distilleries.

The DPO also reported a notable case where the police station in Shahkot successfully rescued a 16-year-old girl who had been abducted, resulting in the arrest of the suspects involved. The year’s campaign also saw the recovery of 715 motorcycles, 12 vehicles, 3 tractors, a truck, a carry box, 36 other vehicles, 92 tolas of jewelry, and 104 stolen cattle, all of which were returned to their legal owners.

The presentation of this report to the IG Punjab underscores the rigorous efforts of the Nankana police in combating crime and administering justice in their jurisdiction.
