Lahore: An important meeting chaired by Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, focused on reviewing and enhancing security arrangements across the province, particularly for Chinese nationals, foreign citizens, and sensitive locations. The meeting, attended by senior police officials via video link, addressed the increasing attacks by khawarji terrorists and other hostile elements on civilians and security personnel.
According to Punjab Police, Dr. Anwar emphasized the need to deploy all available resources to bolster security for Chinese and foreign nationals, experts, development projects, residences, and transportation routes. He instructed for heightened security measures at police check posts in border areas and stressed the importance of adhering to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for securing police stations and sensitive offices. Measures such as night patrolling, personnel attendance, and CCTV monitoring were highlighted, alongside the use of bulletproof jackets during operations against miscreants. Additionally, preventive measures were advised in situations involving old enmities to protect lives. The meeting was also attended by Additional IG Operations Punjab Shahzada Sultan, DIG Operations Punjab Waqas Nazir, and DIG Operations Lahore.
