Islamabad: On an official visit scheduled for April 17, 2025, Hungary’s Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade, Péter Szijjártó, will arrive in Pakistan. Invited by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Szijjártó will be accompanied by a high-level business delegation to explore potential business opportunities.
During the visit, Szijjártó will engage in a one-on-one meeting with Dar, followed by delegation-level discussions. The talks aim to deepen collaboration between the two countries in economic, trade, energy, and investment sectors.
Several Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) and an Agreement on Cooperation will be signed in areas such as culture, archaeology, and the abolition of visas for diplomatic passport holders.
This visit marks Szijjártó’s second trip to Pakistan. It aims to bolster bilateral cooperation and foster an economically rewarding partnership.
Pakistan and Hungary celebrate 60 years of diplomatic relations this year. The relationship has been strengthened by regular high-level exchanges and shared views on various regional and international issues. A key aspect of this relationship has been the successful investment by Hungarian oil and gas company MOL in Pakistan since 1999.
