HEC Approves Travel Grants to Boost International Academic Engagement

Islamabad: The Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan recently held its 42nd meeting of the Travel Grant and Seminar/Conference Apex Committee to evaluate applications for financial support. This initiative aims to enhance academic participation, facilitate research dissemination, and encourage scholarly engagement at both national and international forums.

According to Higher Education Commission of Pakistan, the committee conducted a detailed review of the applications, ensuring they met HEC’s established policies and guidelines. The evaluation focused on factors such as the eligibility of applicants, their academic credentials, research relevance, the quality of proposed academic events, and overall compliance with approved criteria.

The Travel Grant and Seminar/Conference Support programmes are designed to offer faculty members, researchers, and scholars opportunities to present their research and build academic networks. These programmes support the exchange of knowledge and foster collaborations within the broader national and international research community.

By participating in scholarly forums, researchers can engage with the latest developments in their fields, interact with leading academics, and receive valuable feedback. The support programmes are part of HEC’s efforts to promote meaningful academic engagement and increase the visibility of Pakistan’s research community on international platforms.

The Apex Committee emphasized that the support provided through these programmes is based on a transparent and merit-based process with a focus on academic quality and adherence to policy frameworks. HEC remains dedicated to strengthening Pakistan’s research and innovation ecosystem by facilitating academic mobility and promoting knowledge exchange.
