Gwadar Meeting Focuses on Strengthening Upcoming Polio Campaign

Gwadar: A crucial meeting was convened at the district level, chaired by Deputy Commissioner Hamudur Rahman, focusing on the upcoming polio campaign. The meeting saw the participation of key district officials including the District Health Officer, District Education Officer, and representatives from MS District Headquarters Hospital Gwadar, DSM, PPHI, UNICEF, among others.

According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, the Deputy Commissioner emphasized the importance of full participation from all district and tehsil officers in the polio eradication effort. He issued a stern warning that legal action would be taken against any officer failing to partake in this national campaign. The meeting also allowed for an opportunity to gather feedback from officers involved in the campaign training and to thoroughly review the security arrangements, including the deployment of security personnel at transit points.

Further discussions during the meeting addressed the critical role of women in the success of the campaign and strategized on handling refusal cases encountered in previous campaigns. New approaches were outlined to address these issues effectively. Additionally, special attention was pledged for residents from polio-affected districts in Pakistan and Balochistan currently living in Gwadar, ensuring they receive focused care throughout the campaign duration.
