Governor of Sindh Highlights Climate Change Challenges and Islamic Teachings on Environmental Protection


Karachi, Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tesori emphasized the critical impact of climate change on Pakistan and the importance of incorporating environmental awareness in education and public life. Speaking at a conference on “Believers and the Environment” at the Governor’s House, he stressed the need for more trees in urban areas to combat environmental pollution and called for stronger international cooperation to address climate change challenges.



According to Sindh Governor House, Governor Tesori highlighted that Pakistan ranks high among countries adversely affected by climate change. He underscored the significance of public awareness and integrating climate knowledge into the educational curriculum. The Governor also pointed out that Islam, as a complete code of life, offers substantial guidance on environmental protection. Referencing Islamic teachings, he mentioned a hadith where planting a tree or sowing a seed is considered an act of charity. He encouraged the Muslim community to actively follow these teachings and contribute to environmental preservation.
