Government to Establish Special Protection Force for Security of Foreign Nationals

Islamabad, The government has decided to create a special protection force dedicated to ensuring the security of foreign nationals within the federal capital territory. This decision was taken during a meeting chaired by Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, which focused on addressing the law and order situation.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the Interior Minister instructed that security for foreign nationals should be foolproof, with special attention to be given to all important offices and locations, including the red zone in Islamabad.

The meeting also addressed the Islamabad Safe City project, with Mohsin Naqvi emphasizing the need to equip it with modern technology similar to the Lahore Safe City project. He mentioned that improvements in police station infrastructure are underway and that visible results are expected in the coming months.

A significant portion of the meeting’s agenda focused on combating drug-related crime. The Interior Minister directed a strict crackdown on gangs involved in the sale and purchase of drugs, particularly around educational institutions. He described drug peddlers as enemies of the country’s future, warning that the sale of intoxicants, including ice, outside schools and colleges would not be tolerated under any circumstances.

Additionally, Mohsin Naqvi ordered effective action against beggar mafias and requested a comprehensive plan to address traffic issues in the capital.

Inspector General of Islamabad Police Ali Nasir Rizvi provided a detailed briefing on the law and order situation, reinforcing the need for targeted efforts to maintain safety and security in the capital.
