ISLAMABAD: The Minister for National Health Services, Mustafa Kamal, announced plans for a 6.8 billion rupee project aimed at screening the population for diabetes. The initiative is set to commence in Islamabad and will eventually extend to other provinces, highlighting the government’s commitment to tackling the growing health concern.

According to Radio Pakistan, Kamal’s announcement was made during an event in Islamabad, where he emphasized the urgent need for prevention and increased public awareness about diabetes across the country. The project represents a significant investment in public health and aims to address the high prevalence of diabetes, which has become a pressing issue in recent years.

In his address, the Minister outlined the scope of the project, which will start in the federal capital before expanding nationwide.
