Islamabad: The Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, addressed the Leaders in Islamabad Business Summit, emphasizing priorities for macroeconomic stability, sustainable growth, and investment.
According to Press Information Department, the Finance Minister detailed Pakistan’s economic direction focused on achieving stability through structural reforms, boosting exports and investment, and reducing reliance on aid. He highlighted improvements in large-scale manufacturing and remittance inflows, supported by IT export growth, as key factors in bolstering the external account.
Senator Aurangzeb underscored the importance of export-led and investment-driven growth over consumption-driven cycles. He noted measures to enhance export sector competitiveness and emphasized the need for continued structural reforms to ensure durable economic stability.
The Finance Minister pointed to Pakistan’s recent international bond issuance, which saw strong investor interest, as a sign of growing international confidence. He stressed the significance of Pakistan’s GDP growth and the country’s preparedness for opportunities in digitalization and the New Economy.
Senator Aurangzeb concluded by thanking summit organizers for facilitating discussions on Pakistan’s economic priorities.
