Islamabad: Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, engaged in a virtual dialogue with Johanna Chua, Head of Global Emerging Markets Economics at Citi Global Markets, along with partners and investors worldwide last Thursday. The meeting centered on the economic stabilization and growth Pakistan has experienced over the past eighteen months, which has rekindled investor and lender interest in the country.
According to Press Information Department, during the interaction, Minister Aurangzeb provided a detailed presentation on the current state of Pakistan’s economy, highlighting the strategic reforms implemented across various sectors. These reforms aim to ensure lasting macroeconomic stability and support the country’s growth trajectory. The Minister emphasized that the recent decision to engage in a $7 billion program with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) was a critical step towards securing this stability and advancing structural reforms.
Participants in the meeting had the opportunity to pose questions about the ongoing economic reforms, which include efforts in privatization, taxation, and energy sector improvements.
