Fatal Collision on Yamuna Expressway Leaves Five Dead in Uttar Pradesh

Mathura, A tragic accident on the Yamuna Expressway in Uttar Pradesh resulted in the death of five individuals after their car was engulfed in flames following a collision with a bus. The incident, which occurred near the 117th milestone on the Agra-Noida carriageway of the expressway in the Mathura district, has highlighted the dangers of highway travel in the region.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the collision was triggered by a burst tyre on the bus, causing it to lose control and overturn. The car, following closely behind, was unable to avoid the overturned bus and collided with it, leading both vehicles to catch fire. While the occupants of the bus managed to evacuate in time, the individuals in the car were not as fortunate and succumbed to the inferno.

Mathura SSP Shailesh Pandey provided details of the accident, noting the rapid sequence of events that led to the tragic outcome. Efforts are underway to identify all the victims, with one person already identified and authorities working to notify their family. The incident has prompted further legal proceedings as investigations continue to determine the exact cause and potential preventive measures to avoid such devastating accidents in the future.

This incident has once again raised concerns over road safety on India’s expressways, where high speeds and heavy traffic pose significant risks to travelers.
