ECP Sets Date for Presidential Election in Pakistan

Islamabad, The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has announced the schedule for the upcoming Presidential election, set to take place on the 9th of this month. This crucial election will determine the next President of Pakistan, with the electoral college consisting of members from both houses of Parliament and the four provincial assemblies participating in the vote.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the ECP’s schedule outlines key dates leading up to the election. Nomination papers were required to be submitted to the Presiding Officers in Islamabad and the provincial capitals by noon today. The scrutiny of these nomination papers is slated for Monday, followed by the last day for candidates to withdraw their nominations on Tuesday. The final list of candidates will also be published on Tuesday.

The election process, held through a secret ballot, will take place in the Parliament House in Islamabad and in all four provincial assemblies. This election follows the constitutional procedure for electing the President of Pakistan, emphasizing the importance of a democratic and transparent electoral process.
