ISLAMABAD: Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Security Islamabad, Rana Umar Farooq, conducted a comprehensive review of the Safe City Control Room’s surveillance capabilities, focusing on the High Security Zone and Diplomatic Enclave. The review emphasized ensuring the constant operational readiness of the surveillance system.

According to Islamabad Capital Police, DIG Security Islamabad was briefed by officers on the performance of the surveillance cameras and the overall monitoring system. The briefing covered camera coverage, monitoring, and the security measures in place. Following the review, DIG Farooq instructed that timely maintenance of the cameras be prioritized, and that all technical systems remain fully operational to detect and respond to any suspicious activities or incidents promptly.

Further directives from DIG Farooq included strengthening security surveillance around the Diplomatic Enclave, High Security Zone, and other sensitive areas, with a focus on continuous monitoring. He emphasized the importance of utilizing modern technology and the Safe City monitoring system to enhance security measures at critical locations.

DIG Farooq reiterated that any technical faults in the surveillance system should be addressed immediately to ensure the system remains alert at all times. He assured that the Islamabad Police are committed to utilizing all resources to protect citizens, diplomatic missions, and key government installations, leveraging the Safe City system to integrate and strengthen security arrangements effectively.
