Deputy PM Ishaq Dar Highlights Education’s Role at National Youth Convention in Islamabad

Islamabad: The National Youth Convention, titled “Story of Pakistan and Role of Youth,” commenced in Islamabad, with Deputy Prime Minister Senator Ishaq Dar emphasizing the transformative power of education in changing the world. The two-day event, organized by the Higher Education Commission (HEC), is dedicated to celebrating the achievements of Pakistani youth and promoting inter-provincial harmony.

According to Higher Education Commission of Pakistan, the convention has drawn government officials, including the Minister for Power Sardar Awais Ahmed Khan Laghari and Minister of State for IT and Telecommunication Ms. Shaza Fatima Khawaja, who discussed various progressive measures to advance the country. Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif is scheduled to address the convention, further underscoring its significance.

In his keynote, Deputy PM Dar pointed out that education is crucial for nurturing creativity and innovation among youth, which are vital for societal progress. He also highlighted the government’s commitment to fostering a startup culture and supporting higher education through initiatives like the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC).

The event also featured presentations on challenges such as the energy crisis, with plans for power sector reforms and digital skilling of youth, reflecting a comprehensive approach to national development. Ministers shared insights on leveraging technology for economic growth and advocating for robust educational and employment opportunities for the youth.

The convention serves as a platform for policymakers and young leaders to dialogue and devise strategies that harness the potential of Pakistan’s diverse youth for the nation’s prosperity.
