Jammu: Congress IIOJK chapter held a march in Jammu, burning an effigy of Indian Home Minister Amit Shah in protest of the deteriorating peace situation in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the protest aimed to address the government’s delay in restoring statehood for Jammu and Kashmir. The demonstrators marched from Punjtirthi to Prade Chowk, where the effigy was set aflame.
During the protest, a Congress leader criticized the BJP government in New Delhi for failing to maintain peace in the region. He called for immediate action to prevent further unrest, urging the restoration of statehood with constitutional guarantees to protect the rights and dignity of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
“The people of Jammu and Kashmir have suffered enough,” the leader stated, emphasizing the need for security and constitutional assurances for the Kashmiri population.
