LAHORE: Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif on Wednesday inaugurated a house in Hassan Abdal, constructed under the Apni Chhat Apna Ghar scheme, to commemorate the provision of 225,000 loans under the housing initiative.
According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Punjab, the house was built by retired Havaldar Itbar Shah, who expressed gratitude for the Rs1.5 million loan that allowed him to construct his home. During her visit, the chief minister congratulated the family and presented gifts as a gesture of goodwill.
The visit included a meal with Shah’s family, where the chief minister enjoyed traditional dishes and acknowledged the significance of the programme for families in need. The initiative aims to provide financial assistance to individuals for home construction across Punjab.
In a statement, Chief Minister Sharif highlighted the programme’s impact, viewing it as a vital source of support for homeless families in the province.
